Services & Pricing

GO Garage provides focused mobile auto care for specific safety-critical systems, along with limited, surface-level check engine light evaluations.

This page explains what’s handled, how pricing works, and whether it makes sense to contact me.

Service call & initial assessment

The service call fee is $125.

This covers:

  • Travel to your location

  • Setup and on-site time

  • Initial inspection or assessment of the concern

The service call fee is separate from any repair work and does not apply toward repairs.

If repairs are recommended, you’ll receive clear options before deciding how to proceed.

Services handled on-site

I focus on systems that directly affect how your vehicle starts, stops, and handles, plus basic evaluations of common warning lights.

All work is limited to services that can be performed safely, cleanly, and responsibly in a mobile setting.

Inspections & Assessments

Inspections are focused evaluations, not broad vehicle checklists or upsell inspections.

Common inspection requests include:

  • Brake system inspections

  • Suspension and steering inspections

  • Starting and charging system checks

  • Noise, vibration, or handling concerns related to the systems above

An inspection is intended to:

  • Identify worn or failed components related to the concern

  • Confirm whether an issue is safety-related

  • Provide clear, realistic repair recommendations

I address the concern I was called for and do not actively search for unrelated or minor maintenance items.

Brake services

  • Brake pad replacement

  • Brake rotor replacement

  • Caliper replacement (when required)

  • Brake hardware and slide service

  • Brake system safety assessments

Brake work is limited to vehicles where repairs can be completed safely on-site.

Suspension & steering

  • Struts and shocks

  • Control arms

  • Ball joints

  • Tie rods

  • Sway bar links and bushings

I replace worn components and assess related parts that affect ride quality, steering control, and safety.

Alignments are not performed on-site and may be recommended after suspension work.

Batteries, starters & alternators

  • Battery testing and replacement

  • Starter replacement

  • Alternator replacement

  • Basic starting and charging system checks

These services are evaluated case-by-case based on access, location, and risk.

If a repair requires deep disassembly, heavy fluid handling, or creates spill risk, it may be better handled in a shop setting.

Check engine light (limited scope)

I offer basic check engine light evaluations for common, non-complex issues.

This includes:

  • Scanning and reading diagnostic trouble codes

  • Explaining what the code typically indicates

  • Advising whether the vehicle is generally safe to drive

  • Recommending appropriate next steps

In some cases, minor component repairs may be offered after inspection if:

  • The failure is clear

  • Access is reasonable

  • Risk is low

  • The scope can be clearly defined in advance

If a repair involves deep access, extended labor, or elevated risk, I’ll recommend a shop rather than attempting it in the field.

This service is informational and scope-limited, not an open-ended diagnostic process.

How repair pricing works

Repair pricing is based on the specific scope of work, including the time, access, and complexity required to complete the repair.

Some repairs are straightforward.

Others require additional labor due to component location or vehicle design.

After the initial assessment:

  • Repairs are quoted before any work begins

  • Pricing reflects a clearly defined scope

  • No work is performed without approval

Unforeseen conditions

Automotive repairs can sometimes reveal additional issues once work begins, especially on vehicles affected by age, corrosion, wear, or contamination.

Examples may include:

  • Rusted or seized hardware that breaks during removal

  • Previously damaged or bent components

  • Seized calipers or contaminated brake components revealed during service

  • Exhaust or suspension fasteners failing due to normal wear and corrosion

If this occurs:

  • Work will pause

  • The scope will be reassessed

  • Any additional cost will be explained before proceeding

No additional work is performed without approval.

Mobile work limitations

Because this is a mobile service, not every repair is appropriate to perform on-site.

If a repair requires:

  • Deep disassembly or tear-down

  • Extended labor with major components removed

  • Increased safety or liability risk in a driveway or parking lot

It may be better handled in a shop setting.

I do not take on heavy tear-down work in the field.

Fluid-heavy work considerations

Some repairs involve significant fluid handling, which may not be appropriate to perform in a mobile environment.

If a job requires:

  • Large volumes of oil, coolant, transmission fluid, or similar fluids

  • Extended open systems that increase spill risk

  • Conditions where containment and cleanup can’t be properly controlled

It may be better handled in a shop environment.

This helps avoid:

  • Damage to driveways or surrounding property

  • Environmental contamination

  • Cleanup issues that don’t serve the client or the work

I do not perform fluid-heavy jobs in the field when they can’t be done cleanly and responsibly.

Services Not Offered

To avoid confusion, GO Garage does not take on:

  • Advanced or open-ended check engine light diagnostics

  • Electrical or wiring fault tracing

  • Engine or transmission work

  • Air conditioning system repairs

  • Oil changes, flushes, or radiator jobs

  • Minor maintenance upsells or checklist inspections

  • Alignments

  • Open-ended “just look at it” visits

These services are better handled by a fully equipped repair facility.

Is this service a good fit?

This service works well if you:

  • Are comfortable with a $125 service call for inspection and assessment

  • Want clear answers before committing to repairs

  • Prefer on-site service for safety-related work

  • Understand that scope can change if hidden issues are uncovered

  • Value professional judgment over shortcuts or upselling

It may not be a good fit if you’re looking for:

  • Free inspections

  • Guaranteed pricing regardless of condition

  • Fluid-heavy or tear-down repairs performed on-site

  • General maintenance services

  • Emergency or on-demand repairs
